Tricks

Still working on Eden's tricks. Tonight we reviewed the pushboard again (she is getting SO FAST with her push off! and high as well!), leg weaving, Man Down and roll over. She's sooooo smart!

Trick Training

I'm starting to teach Eden some new tricks. I'm teaching her to back up with the cue "beep beep beep" LOL and we reviewed roll over, what?, and started teaching the walking weaves. My favorite right now though is her faint or Man Down! trick. She flings herself on the ground, legs a-kickin' for the Man Down = hilarious!

Flyball Training

Runbacks over jumps for the tug (her new reward system), racing Jive and overall working on her speed over the jumps and on/off the box. Her speed to the box is excellent, she is even with Jive. She loses time on her boxturn and her speed back is slower - as if once she gets the ball, she is "done" and doesn't need to race anymore. I will continue to work on this with her - building drive off the box and back to me. She's doing so good!

Eden's 2nd Flyball Tourney (and New Title!!!)

SATURDAY:
Eden didn't get to run with the team much at this tournament because they were hard-pressed to win as it was.
Singles against Bacardi:
SUNDAY:
She did however break her fastest time in singles - I am so, so, so proud of her! Her new PB is 7.667 :-D She had a 7.44 run but I false started (only by -0.008) so it didn't count :-( I was incredibly bummed!! The line judge even asked the head judge if she could keep the score since she was so cute! :-D LOL I love my little girl.

Singles against Bacardi again:
Lets watch her fastest run!!!
She ran against a little terrier with some crossing over issues as well. Stewart's owner came to warn me about him and ask what I thought of the situation. She assured me that Stewart would not agress on Eden so I said she would be fine. He crossed over twice, one time she just shared the lane with him and the 2nd time she modified her box turn (turning right, a direction I have never taught her!) to accommodate him. She's the sweetest! She got to make up every run he did that so by the end of her races, she was walking over the jumps LOL Stewart's mom was thankful and very nice :-)
This little dog has gained so much confidence in such a short time, she now can jump much higher than she would ever even attempt before. Her crate was stacked on another and she very casually just hopped into it!
She earned her first flyball title this weekend! Top Flight!

Cardis Family Picture

The usual hassle trying to get everyone in position, looking forward, and being good. But, we finally managed!
Other attempts are HERE.

Time with Mom

Jason is out of town for two days so it's just me and my kids (and Finn). Eden and Kastle get to sleep with Mom for these two nights and they seem to be feeling very privileged :-)

Flyball Practice

Eden needs to build some stamina for sprinting (she is a wonderful long-distance jogger!) so tonight I mainly just did the full sequence over and over and over and over. Then we ran doubles. She ran with a dog new to her, Scrappy, and she bailed on the jumps and outed the ball early. To make sure she was successful, she ran alone or with mile wide passes. It seems to me that her jumps are starting to flatten out and get faster and faster and her drive to the box is just about the same speed as Phoebe (who she is running against here), but the boxturn and the speed back are much slower.

Personal Guard and a Walk with Cardis

My personal living room guard.
After they were done with guard duty, we all went for a walk :-)

Flyball Training

At flyball tonight I worked with Eden on her boxturn with a cone to help her turn all the way (instead of running straight up, plucking the ball out, and running back), and doubles with Marley.

Intermediate Trick Dog Title

Eden is now an Intermediate Trick Dog! :-)
For this title, she needed to do: fetch to hand, figure 8 between legs, hide in a box, roll over, go to mat, sit pretty, place (around the back finish at basic), paws on arm, heel with auto sit, perch work, teeter, and flyball box.
Here is a short instructional video of teaching Eden a simple trick.

Park with Friends

We met a friend with her dog at the park today so that all the dogs could run around and have a good time expending energy and playing. It was fantastic.

The whole crew.
Rough-housing with Finn. He'll only be her size for a short time :-)
The girls together are hysterical!

My pretty, sweet little girlie.
Group shot of the dogs that actually have down-stays LOL
Coke getting designs on Eden...
There are loads more action photos, particularly of the two Cardi girls play-fighting, HERE.
